Chris Oynes, who worked for the Department of Interior, has will soon be resigning.
Chris Oynes came under heavy criticism following the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill. His job involved overseeing the oil and natural gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. However, since the oil spill occurred, reports have began to surface that indicate that the government oversight into the offshore oil rigs was rather lax.
President Obama expressed his frustration with the situation last Friday, as he ordered Ken Salazar (Secretary of the Interior,) to conduct a complete reform of the offshore drilling procedures.
