Central Indiana police say a 19-year-old man wanted for questioning in connection with the slayings of his parents and twin brother at their home has been arrested in Texas.
Whitestown Police Chief Dennis Anderson says Barney Jose Chamorro was arrested Saturday at a rest stop near Midland. Police had been looking for him as a person of interest” in the deaths of his stepmother, father and brother.
Police found the bodies of Judy Schindler, Alejandro Chamorro Sr. and Alejandro Chamorro Jr. on Friday in the town 20 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

Lake lawmakers get lower ballot spot
A lottery to determine candidates’ ballot placement has left many Lake County incumbents without top billing.
Congressman Pete Visclosky, D-1st, and several state lawmakers including Rep. Charlie Brown, D-Gary, will be listed on the ballot below their lesser-known challengers in a system that’s unique to Lake County.
The General Assembly passed a law in 1991 allowing the county to use a lottery system so every candidate has a chance at the top spot on the ballot. Indiana’s 91 other counties still place candidates on ballots in alphabetical order.
Political observers say the top spot can pay off in hundreds of votes because some voters cast ballots for the first name they see.
Ohio reports surge in handgun licenses
Ohio issued a record 56,691 concealed-handgun licenses in 2009.
That tops the previous high of 45,497 set in 2004 when the concealed-handgun law first went into effect. It’s also the third straight year for an increase.
State Attorney General Richard Cordray attributes the increase to more Ohioans feeling comfortable exercising their right to carry concealed handguns.
Jim Irvine, chairman of the Buckeye Firearms Association, says he thinks more people are concerned that President Obama is going to limit gun ownership.
