Dr. Herszenson 34, is a family physician at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He is pursuing a master’s in public health part time at Hunter College. He graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin, from which he also received a medical degree.
He is the son of Suzanne Herszenson and Dr. Sidney Herszenson of Milwaukee. His father is a dermatologist in private practice there, and his mother does part-time office work for the practice.
Mr. Pierson, 36, is the artistic director and conductor in Manhattan of Alarm Will Sound, a new-music ensemble. He is also the principal conductor of Crash Ensemble, another new-music group, in Dublin. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and received a doctorate of musical arts in conducting from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester.
He is the son of Elaine Pierson and Edward S. Pierson of Chicago. His father is a professor of engineering at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Ind.
