A Tyson Foods employee in Logansport who recently had his hours cut due to a fire at the food processing plant won $1 million from the Hoosier Lottery.
Adan Lopez of Logansport claimed a $1 million scratch-off prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis Friday.
The Cass County man purchased his lucky Hoosier Millions scratch-off ticket on a whim while buying groceries last week. He was still standing in the store when he scratched the ticket and revealed a $1 million prize.
He managed to keep it under control for a week before claiming his prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters.
Originally from Mexico, Lopez moved to Logansport from Illinois ten years ago. He said he doesn't have any grand plans for the winnings, but is looking forward to traveling and helping his family.
Lopez purchased his ticket at Martin's Supermarket at 3420 E. Market St. in Logansport.
He is the third lucky player to win a $1 million top prize on the Hoosier Millions scratch-off game. One top prize of $1 million remains unclaimed on the Hoosier Millions game at this time. The prize will be paid as an annuity over 20 years.
