Barack Obama is in grief, and some bad language do not hesitate to give him the coup de grace ...
While the tenant of the White House was deeply touched by the death of Dorothy Height (we have seen shed a tear yesterday at the funeral of this great lady, an activist for civil rights), here is the Globe magazine reveals a poor history of alleged affair between the current president of the United States and one of her colleagues at the time.
The case is old. And of course, some shouting to political manipulation.
According to the magazine (covered by the Swiss newspaper Le Matin), based on the testimony of a former driver, Barack bright, very ambitious, so race and in 2004 for the Senate seat in Illinois (he was elected in November of that year), have maintained an extramarital Vera Baker, 29 years, he has known for many years.
The driver told reporters escorted to have an evening after a campaign rally at the George Washington near the Capitol, said that Ms. Baker had asked him not to wait.
He does not, however, if Miss Baker had planned to spend the night in this hotel, as is customary when colleagues are away ...
However the paper goes further and asserts the existence of a video surveillance rather damaging for the 44th president of the United States. Worse, he suggests that software engineers would be on a serious lead on the exchange of e-mails with pretty unequivocal Vera Baker.
A woman would also scares the First Lady, Michelle, to the point it would have meant sending in Martinique, away from her husband some years ago to work for a television channel . Christopher Andersen, author of a book called Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American marriage (released September 2009), is firm in his work and said: "The unexpected arrival of the young woman had been talking. Michelle jealous , has done everything possible to get fired.
Rumors that surface over a year and a half after the election of the first African-American president, and involved only a few days after aprobation its health reform, if controversial, but mean victory for a much America. Rumors that could support any criticism of Republicans, still not recovered from the insult caused by the profound social reform and the recent remarks on Barack Obama's bank reform ...
Rumors that prove both sides of the Atlantic, the presidential couples are at the heart of the most unhealthy rumors ... (See case Sarkozy-Bruni)
If one adds to this the very credibility challenged Globe magazine, which has already taken them to Obama a few months ago in calling his election as illegal and who was involved in a case of homosexuality, it will without saying that these new attacks appear to have only one goal: to destabilize the most powerful man in the world.
Yes, some Republicans and opponents of Barack Obama probably dream of a Lewinsky scandal. But the kingdom of the Oval Office, nothing seems to disturb the happiness of Barack, Michelle, Sasha and Malia, who continue to show their unity familly at every opportunity.
The Student Government Association had their inauguration to officially swear in the newest administration for the 2010-2011 school year.
President, Dillon Harp, vice president, Robin Ussher, and student representative on the board of governors, Peter Gregory, took their oath in the lobby of Blum Union. Former SGA president Josh Todd thinks the inauguration went really well but he’s going to miss SGA.
The student leaders I worked with (are what I miss most),” Todd said. They were all amazing and did great things in the last year. Not just SGA leaders, but all the student leaders on campus.”
Many students have said they don’t know much about SGA or who the SGA officers are. Harp’s main goal is to get the word out about SGA. He said it may take more than just sitting in the SGA office.
We are going to have to go out and do the ground work. If it takes me going outside and shaking everyone’s hand as they walk into the union, I’m going to do it,” Harp said.
They had their first senate meeting Monday afternoon officially as their respective positions to talk about their main issues for the next school year.
The officers have been hard at work since before the election and now are focusing in on what is to come in the next school year. The biggest concern SGA has for next year is involving the students of MWSU. Harp says he wants for students to have a clear understanding of what SGA does and for them to have more of a say than before.
One of the biggest things I want to do is give back to the students,” Harp said. I feel like sometimes SGA hasn’t done the most it can for the students.”
Ussher agreed with Harp about getting the SGA word out to the students.
There are going to be days when Dillon and I are going to be standing out in front of the union and just saying hi and talking to them,” Ussher said. We’re not going to be strangers to these people that we’re representing because we know that’s not what it’s about.”
Gregory wants to be the best voice he can for the students of MWSU.
As Student Governor, I will do my best to carry out the responsibilities of my position on the board and represent the student’s interest to the administration,” Gregory said.
Poll: Ohio Democrats maintain narrow leads; Obama's popularity slips.health care vote house
Ohioans' increased approval of Democrats after the health-care bill passed last month has gotten a little more shaky.
A Quinnipiac Poll in late March showed what was interpreted as a small health-care bounce for Democrats. Approval for President Barack Obama was up, Gov. Ted Strickland increased his margin and both Democrats took small leads in U.S. Senate race.
A new poll released today shows more mixed results.
The Ohio Democrats all maintain narrow leads in their races, but Obama's popularity has slipped.
And if Ohio voters are rewarding Democrats for the health-care vote, they're sure disguising it well: 55 percent say they oppose the overhaul, compared to 38 percent who support it. And 37 percent say they would vote against a member of Congress who supported the health-care bill, even if they agree with him or her on other issues.
Still, Ohioans continue to trust Obama somewhat more 44 percent to 40 percent than congressional Republicans to handle health care.
"Ohio is upholding its reputation as a battleground state," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, in a release. "Democrats seem to have a slight edge in the key races, but those leads are small and have gone back and forth in recent months. As has historically been the key in Ohio elections, the undecided vote many of whom are independents could well hold the balance of power come November."
Strickland leads former GOP Congressman John Kasich by 44 percent to 38 percent, a statistically insignificant increase of 1 point in the past month. The survey continues to show that Kasich remains relatively unknown.
"Although Gov. Ted Strickland remains ahead, there are a couple of numbers that might be of some concern to his re-election committee," Brown said. "Only 37 percent of voters say he has kept his campaign promises and the race remains close even though 62 percent of voters don't know enough about Kasich to have an opinion of him."
In prospective November matchups of U.S. Senate hopefuls, Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher leads former Republican Congressman Rob Portman 40 percent to 37 percent, while Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner's lead is 40 to 36. Yesterday a separate Quinnipiac Poll showed Fisher with a 17-point lead over Brunner in the Democratic primary.
"The Senate numbers reflect the same level of voter unfamiliarity with the candidates, which means that race has a long, long way to go once the Democratic nomination is settled," Brown said.
Exactly 50 percent of Ohioans disapprove of Obama's job performance, while 45 percent approve. Disapproval won out 48 to 47 last month.
"The president's approval has remained in the mid-40s percentage range for six months. His numbers aren't great, but they are not awful either. It's worth remembering that George W. Bush won re-election in 2004 with those kinds of numbers," Brown said.
Faber lashes out at Obama, gives clean chit to Goldman
Goldman Sachs, a full-service global investment banking and securities firm, was charged with fraud in the structuring and marketing of a debt product tied to subprime mortgages by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In light of the same, US President Barack Obama had said SEC was an entirely independent agency and he had no control over it. We released financial reforms as a package over a year ago and have been pushing this hard throughout. The SEC is an entirely independent agency that we have no day-to-day control over and they never discussed anything with respect to the charges that would be bought. So this notion that somehow there would be any attempt to interfere in the independent agency is completely false.”
However, defending Goldman, Investment Guru Marc Faber said that the investment banking and securities firm had a strict compliance department and the move against the company was to distract attention. Goldman Sachs is a rather honest firm—they have a very strict compliance department compared to the others—they are like an angel. But they targeted Goldman because its stands as a symbol of Wall Street plus it’s also Israel. The approval rating of Obama has plunged because of the healthcare reforms and now they go after Goldman Sachs to distract the attention of the people and target the minority, Wall Street and Goldman,” he said.
Anybody who gave me money during the course of my campaign knew that I was a record gain in 2007-08 pushing very strongly how Wall Street did business and nobody should be surprised in the position I am taking now because it's one thing I was clear about during the course of the campaign,” Obama clarified.
