American Idol' top 6: Tim Urban gets kicked off, but the night was really about 'Idol' giving back.american idol top 6 2010

While I thought either Siobhan Magnus or Aaron Kelly would surely get the boot, most "Idol" fans thought it was time for Tim Urban to go, and everyone else obviously got it right.

After a full two hours of performances, comedy skits and videos urging people to give to the show's charity for causes such as malaria prevention and feeding low-income Americans, the show got down to business.

It was between Casey James, Aaron Kelly and Tim, but in the end, Ryan Seacrest announced that Tim, who has unbelievably survived performances much worse than what we saw on Tuesday night, was standing on the "Idol" stage for the last time.

MLive readers were much better at predicting the results than I was. 41 percent thought Tim would get the boot.

Here are the results of our poll yesterday, asking who would get kicked off "American Idol," in which 212 of you voted voted:

Tim Urban -- 41 percent (86 votes)
Siobhan Magnus -- 19 percent (41 votes)
Aaron Kelly -- 17 percent (37 votes)
Michael Lynche -- 12 percent (26 votes)
Casey James -- 6 percent (12 votes)
Crystal Bowersox -- 3 percent (6 votes)
Lee Dewyze -- 2 percent (4 votes)

So now we're down to the top six contestants, two of which I feel will surely be gone in the next two weeks (Siobhan and Aaron) and another (Casey) who I think needs to really make an effort if he wants to rally audience support.

That leaves three who I think really have a shot at the "Idol" crown -- Crystal Bowersox, Lee Dewyze and Michael Lynche.
